;D lolol Wanda.... each person is different but generally if you are not an active person you do not require the energy fuel (carbohydrates) as would an active person and even less than a very active individual. Proteins are the body's building blocks (meats, fish, poultry and dairy products) and all tissues in the body break down. These are repaired with proteins we consume. When the body has an over abundance of carbohydrates (simple or complex) it stores and does this more easily in some than others. The body is a very smart machine.... it knows where it's supposed to physically but we over indulge or something goes wacky and the thyroid kicks it into over-store. In any case if we eat correctly and are adequately active there shouldn't be any problem.... DON"T eat more carbohydrates than the body requires. In answer to your question I tell people to eat to loose weight....generally most people don't eat enough and the body thinks it is in a starve or drought situation so it stores until a time of plenty ie. eating more. When we eat more the body knows it has plenty for the things required and can there fore burn more off. Which brings me to the big "I won't eat for days" diet plan... some say it works, yes for the first day or so but then the body's safety store mode kicks in and most gain the weight back they lost and then some. To sum this all up I would have to talk more specifics with you ( everyones situation is different) Eat 4 or 5 small portions during the day, nothing after 10:00 pm and stay active enough to burn more calories than you consume. cheers Lance

Not sure if there is a specific one week time I would relive but I do know that I would try to be more outgoing and join in with groups. I tended to stay in my comfort zone and didn't break out of it till after I graduated from highschool. I think I missed the making of a lot of memories during high school.

Thanks Lance. The reason why I asked was that when I worked at Curves for awhile, that is their way of thinking and I wondered if the fitness trainers are telling people the same thing. It's part of the low carb way of life out there.
It worked for me to get off the 8 sizes I wanted to get down but now my mind is rebelling. Still fighting though......
I was just wondering what your take was on all of that.

Heather I think I was the same way really. I don't remember half the stuff that people on this site are telling us. I am thinking I went through high school with a blind fold on or something ;D

You are Welcome Wanda, glad I could help, ask me anything any time... I was a competitor in the Northern Alberta body building show in 1990 (placed 5th out of 7) light weight division. In 3 months I went from 185 lbs. to 154 lbs. ending up at 4% body fat. A body building competition diet is a little extreme but works well, you learn alot when you weigh your food and count the calories. I also competed in a power lifting show (placed 2nd) no diet required for that one. cheers Lance

FYI A great place to upload your photo's to, that will then enable you to display them on forums such as this... www.photobucket.comOnce you have your photo's uploaded from your pc, you may then use the link to display the picture here, or on any other forums of this type. Simply use the IMG bar (click it once, right click, select "copy", then place that IMG code in the body text of your message by right clicking, then select paste). As long as you leave the photo in your "album", it will remain displayed, but once it is removed, the link to the displayed pic will be broken as well. This is my daughter Kylee, who just graduated Grade 8 Thursday evening (I am so proud...yet feeling old at the same time!) Hope this helps you out some Lance! Cheers Jimmy

Thank you Sarah! It was a big night, a lot of emotion's, tears, and smiles! Really hits you hard, but hey, that is life, and it is precious. The horse in the picture is a friend of ours, who lives in Picton. Kylee takes riding lesson's yet we do not own a horse of our own (which she would love to someday, and you know what, I am sure that she will). I have 2 beautiful daughters, and I love them with everything that I am. Here they are prior to the graduation ceremonies in front of our home. Cheers Jimmy
