Mrs Vinay Nehru -what happened to my Grade 11 biology teacher? She was fun....Lance Darlow and I dissected that rabbit, then put it back together for the science fair in Belleville. He was more interested in the ladies (Lance Romance) then scoring high with the jugdes. I think we garnered a third.
Is Ernie Pope still teaching math at BSS? He was a good ping pong player. Just passed his Grade 12 class because I got a copy of the previous semester's exam and aced it....to get a 52 per cent mark, as a I recall back in '77. Wow!
Lance Darlow's mom worked in the front office at BSS back in 77 and 78 as I recall.
Bettie Anderson was a great woman in the office.....I always liked her. Genial woman!
Remember Mr. Blair, my home room teaher, the rifle coach? He taught German and French. Always reminded me of Sigmund Freud, with his pointy beard. Another teacher with facial hair!

I remember one custodian in particular, we knew him as "Smiley", don't know what his REAL name was.

Tom Potter is alive and well...still with 3 teenaged kids...in Toronto. Retired from teaching...has a cottage north of Bancroft were guys like Pordham, Johnson, Korah, Angelini, Pope... terrorize fish on occasion. Penny Hopkins has cottage in the area. I don't get to Belleville/Bayside much anymore. I love reading about the good ol'days... "Too soon old, too late smart". tpotter@pathcom.com oxo tp

Mr Potter. I always enjoyed your class as you were a great teacher even though I never did enjoy English as a subject. I do love to read though. It was teachers like you who made school fun.

Gee...I'm blushing. Thanks for the kind words. Ya' know, a teacher makes probably 500 decisions/comments/reactions a day. If he/she got 400 right, they'd be on the honour role...but they would have made 100 poor/bad decisions/comments/etc, and cheesed off a ton of people. I'm guilty. So if any of you are in the latter group...my heart-felt apologizes...there...I've confessed. Gee, I feel a whole lot better! tp

I echo Diane's comments Mr. Potter. A couple years ago, I was working through ane exercise where I listed defining moments, critical choices and pivotal people. I was surprized that through this exercise, your name made my Top 7 list (sorry my Dad and trumpet teacher were ahead of you!).
I was surprized because I'm not sure I ever had you as an English Teacher. You did teach Sex Ed Your passion, sense of humour, and postive attitude made a great impression with me, and I thank you for that! All the best!
