O.K....after going through the 1979 book I've got some more names of guys we used to swoon over, and have mini or major crushes on at some point. Don't forget that in high school a crush could last as little as one day until the guy did something gross like stick french fries up his nose!
Again, in no particular order......
Ted Derruyn Stuart Johnson Darcy Scott (Who could forget that Godspell role...he was like a rock star to us young girls!) Richard Woodard (Richard...see my note to Karl below...you are in the photos too!) Tim Evans Scott Peasley James MacLean Bruce Myles Greg Turcotte Joe Hendricks Dan Kreamer Brian Koops Gary Buffett Karl Knapik (Karl...if you ever read this I have some great photos of us in Mr. Angellinis math class if you want to see them) Dave Gaudet Jeff Farmer Greg Birtch Mardy Frazer Greg Garrett Kevin Paul Ron Petit Craig Tyrell
And for all you guys who didn't find yourself on the list....remember I am talking about the days when we were young, shallow 16-17 year old girls and had no appreciation for anything but how a guy looked in painters pants and if they had a car (or drugs ha ha). I am sure if I were making this list as an adult things like personality, intelligence, compassion and all the other more important qualities would be important. So please don't be insulted if you were not listed!
IF anyone wants me to scan in their photos from the 1978 or 1979 yearbook...let me know and I will gladly scan and send to you.
That was fun too!

Way to go Denise- its about time someone named names LOL. I was wondering if and when someone other than me would, seems though that guys did not do the things girls did, talk together.LOL some things just dont change. Guess that is why I have always had more female friends than male from then till now. Take care Darrell

LOLOL ;D There isn't enough space on this page to list all the names of the crushes I had in high school.... but then again it was probably the hormones rampantly running amuck !! I didn't see my name on the last list but I know there were a couple of lists I was on so I don't feel bad. I would still like to run into a girl I had a crush on from grade 7...Sharleen Haw and I wonder what Elizabeth (Liz) Poison is up too? There were a number of good looking girls with great smiles and nice features but who understood what they thought or wanted back then.... Well heck, who really understands what they think or want today !? cheers Lance

Hey....Lance you were on all the lists. Those ADIDAS shorts, showing off your midriff....didn't you get booted from class for the gym attire? Why else did they call you Lance "ROMANCE". I remember our science fair days...you were a chick magnet. Miss Derusha? ? I think I've got her pix posted in the pixs file, holding a tennis racquet. Liz I believe is a nurse in Toronto...I ran into her downtown many moons ago. Her sister was with the Metro Police force, working out of the tough Jane-Finch corridor. I recall you hung with Liz and Cindy all the time. My biggest crush when I arrived at BSS in 11th grade was Andrea Tufts, who lived on the base. She's in Toronto. Not married the last time I communicated with her. Sat beside her in Mr. Harris' Grade 11 math class upstairs. She worked at K-Mart. But I concur with the list of "hunks" composed earlier on...girls back then judged the guys on looks alone. The true crush formula would be on personality and other factors. Looks fade with time....how many guys with the full hair are folically challenged now. Or the big jock who is rundown? Or the plain jane girls who are now yummy mummies!? My sisters all have their looks still. I know staying two weeks with Morgan everyone looked at me as though she was my wife as we hung out....had to tell some people that we are brother-sister....how am I going to get a date when I'm with a good looking 45-year-old sister Morgan when people think we're a couple? I always liked girls with short hair in high school. I was not the norm compared to the guys preferrin the long locks. I know a lot of you guys out there had "crushes" on the Xavier girls: Teresa, Morgan, Carroll and Jane. Brian!!!!! Just as I was departing from BSS I fell hard for a young lady who played piano.....Lisa Mills. She had a brother named Chris. They are in BC in Vancouver I believe. Lisa and I had lunch many years ago upon my first visit to Vancouver and a visit with Morgan and her first born, Karl, now 20. Time flies. And Cathy Rumney! My big crush on the base in Trenton. Memories.....

I'd just like to mention that a photo of Lance in those famous adidas shorts can actually be previewed on this website under photos...in Jules Xavier 2. Thanks Jules for those photos! I also managed to see a good shot of Jules himself in a pretty groovy looking polyester shirt.....once I saw that shirt....I was able to remember who you were!
Talk about a trip down memory lane.......do you think Lance still has some of those adidas shorts? If I am downtown for lunch some day do you think he would be willing to model them for me! HAHAHAHAHAHAH
I actually attended Ryerson and I don't ever remember seeing him on campus in those shorts so I think he must have got rid of them.
HAHAHAHHAHAHAH

I think I am mixing up Larry and Lance. That's what you get when you are getting old! I just remember those adidas shorts fondly and I am not 100 percent sure who was in them!

I am pretty sure I have one of those bowling trophies in my basement.....Jules seems to have posted a ton of photos....they sure bring back memories. I have a lot of clippings from the local newspaper with all our bowling wins and losses. I should dig them out and post. I am glad I am not the only one to have saved all this silly stuff....Jules seems to have done it too! Is his Jack Russell famous or something? I see lots of photos of the dog here!

Hi Denise. Your're four years younger than Lance and I, thus I can only assume you were a minor niner when the two of use were in 12th or 13th grade? The luxury of my scanner for work, and ability to find old photos has allowed me to share and pique the memories of many who have found their way on to the BSS website. Sure wish there were more. Still have guests here...too afraid to join up (for free). This is great? I just gave you your second KARMA for noticing my famous JRT, Tassja. Yes, she's famous I suppose. She's appeared twice in the North America-wide, US-made doggie calendar. But so has my sister Jane's golden lab, Daisy. I've submitted the photos and they've chose four of mine, two to Tassja and two of Daisy from Nanaimo, BC, out of millions they receive (the majority of course coming from US dog owners). And she appears in a special Bad Dog book out of New York City (her award-winning master uses his photo skills and she's such a sexy dog). Lots of attitude. too. Has trained "me" well. And what has hulagirl been up to since leaving BSS? Family and career? Did you bowl on the base? Larry Arsenault would have worn ADIDAS shorts. As did I. As did most of us guys, unless you were more into the track pants, but they were easy to pull down in the gym. Then came the grey baggy track pants, with the tie in rope. I wish ADIDAS would come back with their shorts. The baby diaper-like shorts the kids wear today are too funny. Looks like they need that diaper changed! And they always seem to pull the shorts down so you get about two inches of underwear showing....so you know the brand name. If it's a girl, then you see thong t-backs. Who would have wanted butt crack back in the 70s or 80s? The kids today, do, girl or boy! Denise, start posting your pixs. XMAN
