Was at Bayside from 82 to 85 then transferred to Centennial (BIG mistake!!). Everyone back then knew me with the last name Northey, not Huffman! Living in the UK now, working as IT Administrator. Get in touch anyone in graduating class of 87 to 88 - lasswivsass@hotmail.co.uk
GREAT idea this website btw!! ;D

Are we talking Glenn Thompson of the Ghent Drive Glenn Thompsons? If so, I still consider him one of my closest childhood friends and regret that I lost touch with him. He left school before graduating, I think, and at graduation I was on the road with a band working in Thunder Bay. I can still remember the night clearly. I missed not being able to say thanks and good-bye to a lot of chiildhood friends that I grew up with from Bayside Public School right on through. I keep checking this site to see if any of them will ever turn up and give me the chance to say thanks. Regards, Mike Holmes

Mike Holmes....do you remember jamming in your basement with Kyle Brown and I many summers ago? You were in town a few years back - I remember running into you with Kyle. I hope all is well with you.

Thanks Steve. It's great to hear from you. I sort of figured with a handle like 'fleeter' that it must be you.
I'm well thanks and still playing - although a long way from my parent's basement. How about you? I usually return to Belleville about once a year and Kyle and his family and I are still close so I usually spend part of the time catching up on everyone and anyone when I am there. He still sees some of the guys who are still playing who drop in to the music shop.
Are you still playing? Last I heard, which must be a couple of years ago now, you were playing with a band that Kyle said was quite popular around the Quinte area. I like playing now more than I did when I was doing it full time. I make a lot more money and I no longer have to worry over the business side of things which sucks all the fun right out of playing. Other people have to fret over that now. I get enough work as a session drummer to keep me in new gear and to keep the rust off. My mild-mannered alter-ego is as a high school and college lecturer. No gear, no crew, no groupies!
Regards, Mike Holmes

Why thanks Lance. You are so kind. What are you talking about...only a few more and you have the same as I do. ;D So what does that make us? ?? Well the only good thing about posting in the 80s board is that we aren't as old as the 70s board ;D

I forgot Lance went back to BSS after joining the CAF, so crosses over from the 70s to the 80s board Too funny. Upgrading this marks from the 70s. Lance, did you ever get your Grade 13 diploma? I can't recall you being at the June 78 grad in the gym. Do the newer BSS grads wear caps and gowns for grad now? We wore our Sunday best back then. Remember, those who are 60 this year are the first of the baby boomers. Cher is 60. The US president is 60. Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones is not a baby boomer...he's 142 I think. It's funny to have reporters working with me in the newroom I look after and they were born in the years I went to BSS - but they do enjoy the disco and Supertramp I'll toss on from the late 70s at my editor's computer while we're working....I guess I'm old...old enough to be their dad, but I always tell them age is but a number. My sisters would say I've yet to "grow up", or would be that to act maturely? So, where are the 90s kids on the BSS website? Or more of the base brats? Enjoying my vacation on Vancouver Island with Morgan....Jane is busy moving as she just sold her house of 14 years, and on TGIF learned an offer she put on a huge house on the outskirts of Nanaimo will be her's come Oct. 5. So there will be two moves for her and son Richard, plus her new b/f John. At least she's happy...including a new job for a big mall out here, Rutherford. Have not seen Carroll... Enjoy the weekend.

Jules, tell your sisters that if you don't grow up, you won't grow old. Oops was I supposed to help you out? Maybe I should have bonded with your sisters!LOL!
Sorry girls!!!! ;D
Sounds like you are having a great time out there. Is the weather holding out for you while you are on vacation?
And Cher is 60 this year too? Time sure flies............
Let us know what you are up to out there, anything you want to share?
Have a great time.

Yes Jules I went back to school to upgrade but I was only upgrading not going for the grade thirteen diploma....it was weird going back. The kids have no respect... they scratched and kicked my locker in so I stopped using it. I finished what I needed to do and got the upgrades...the whole experience was strange. cheers Lance
