Yep I still remember the storm, but being just a kid at the time the only thing I remember is sleeping in the public school gym (well I was only in grade 1 or 2 at the time) but I do remember some parents coming for their children on ski-doos and getting our meal brought over from the highschool. and who can forget the snow piled to the roof of the schools.... now that was a Canadian snow storm to remember

I remember the storm too. Our bus actually left the school and got as far as starting up Whites Road but the road was closed off around the first set of railway tracks so we turned around and went back to the school. Long boring night, but at least we got free fries and gravy from the cafe!

Does any one remember the time we formed a human "BSS" for a picture for the year book. We all stood outside and made the letters BSS and there was a picture taken from a helicopter.

Mr.Keast talked to us about the snow storm... and how he woke up hearing things buzzing by his ear.. and people had taken the rubber things off the chair legs and throwing them at each other

Omg guestreddevil I so remember that storm. I always remember the walk to my place. That was the storm so many people still talk about. We had to push cars out of the middle of the road and after all that remember I couldnt find my house keys and we had to push snow out so we could break in thru my brothers bedroom window. lol The poor dog was in the garage and his fur was frozen on the top layer. Alot has changed since then. My mom and dad moved to Nova Scotia( and do they know storms down there) My dad passed away 3 years ago from cancer but for years he talked about the BIG STORM and having to rescue my mom and brothers on a skidoo while the only female child braved the elements and walked home. Memories aren't they great!!!!!!

The storm brings back memories I remember living in a trailer park and the snow was up to the windows. We had to dig down to get in the door.

Remember A&J's om Hiway 2 beside May's gas station? They had the best wedge fries, and weekly lunch trips once one of us had a car was the norm? I lived across the road from the drive in, in Sunny Creek Estates, we used to sneak behind the drive in and grab a speaker from the back and watch the movies. Ahhhhhhhh memories.

Wedge fries were great at AJ's... they also had awesome subs and I remember they had chicken wings before wings were "cool".

I lived in Bayview Trailer park behind Jack's Esso.
MY sister would bring home Wedgies all the time since she worked there for a few years in her later highschool years. They were good hot or cold.. ;D

I would love to get the receipe for them. When I left the Bayside are A&J's was still open. I was very upset to come back and find it closed. There is a Pizza Hut in there now, not quite the same.

K I just thought of something funny (in a scarred for life sort of way LOL) I sent a B-day greeting to an old acquaintance from the Montrose area who lived 1 street over, and as a way to jog his memory (if needed) I added "from the guy who grew up in the house with the PINK TOILET (with red geraniums in it) on the front porch!" Yep people that was me, bless my Mom for having a twisted sense of humour, for some reason though people were always able to find our house LOL I always forget to ask Dad if he kept the toilet when he moved after Mom passed away.....hmmmm maybe he still has it and I can smash it still LOL I always wondered just how badly/widely that landmark was known?!?!?! LOL

Talk about taking recycling to a new level. LMAO Elaine I'm glad you find my pain and turmoil funny just teasing it is funny now but growing up it was a " learning experience" LOL you have to remember this was back in the 70's, 80's and early 90's! way before recycling was even a thought...if I remember correctly Mom once told me she "just liked it, and it made a great planter....had drainage and held the soil nicely LOL Oh yeah the fact our house was in the middle of fields with no houses on either side or behind (back then, now there are houses every where, from what my Dad tells me, since they no longer have to have wells) made it stand out even more LOL
