I noticed in the newspaper that Gail Quann passed away last week or the week before that. She was a school teacher. I knew most of the Quann's as I am sure many of you did. Very sad news.

Yes Kim Armstrong died on the railway tracks in 1987 I believe. I will never forget that day when Mike Deschamps told me the news outside of the arcade in Trenton.

Gail, that would be Mark's sister.
Did the OBIT in the paper say if it was sudden (accident) or health-related?
Where was she?
I'lll have to surf the OBITS in cyberspace.
We lost another one from our BSS alumni. Gone so young.

Christine Thompson went to Bayside from 84-88. I remember her from Mr Smith's Grade 8 class at Bayside Elementary. She should have been class of 89.

Bayside lost another alumni today. Dean May passed away at the age of 49. Most of us remember the May Boys very fondly. They were great guys who all worked at dad Orville's garage. Dean was outgoing and always had a smile. He will be missed. My condolences to all the May family.

I just came across this site googling my brother Paul!!
Thank you for your kind words. Yes we were sadden and (still are) from the sudden death of our brother Paul who passed away almost three yrs ago in March. He left behind a huge, close family that misses him each and every day.
He really enjoyed his sports, you could see it in the trophies and newspaper clippings that he and my other two brothers (Donald and Raymond) collected!! Always into something, being soccer, basketball, football, baseball or hockey!! He loved them all and played his 110%!! His passion was the Montreal Canadiens!!
His sense of humour was well know!! He was well known for his bets and his "WALL OF SHAME"!! If he made a bet with you and you lost, you could very well end up on his "WALL OF SHAME"! Ask his two neices Jenny and Amanda!! They ended up there a few times!!! lol!!!
Our family is still athetic in one way or other, the boys went into the typical sports (basketball, soccer, baseball and are still active) getting involved with their own kids activities, Maude played baseball for her company teams a few years ago, and myself I think I was the only one that didn't get into anything like that (I was the "cheerleader")!!
Our family still gets together for our yearly "Double D" Golf Tournament that Paul and my brother-in-law Dave set up (Labour Day Weekend out in Frankford). I believe this will be our 13th Tournament this year!! From the time it started in 96, we had 16 players (come ran or shine) and believed me, we played in the rain a few times over the years!! At it's peaked we had 30 odd players. We have a great time together. Hopefully we will be able to continue playing together, to see our own grandkids grown up and join us on a day of laughter and joy!!
So in closing (I could go on forever), I again would like to thank you for the kind words of comfort!!
I think Paul would be very pleased if Bayside would one day name an award after him, (might make him blush tho, maybe for just a moment , but I think he would be most honoured). Thank you for the suggestion. I'm touched!!!
To everyone who came to the funeral or gave their condolences I would like to say Thank you from me and my family!!
From the turnout at the funeral home I could see he was well loved!! Thanks to all!! Joanne Dassylva-Noble

I believe it was Bill Chapman? Its funny I am not positive on the name but can vividly remember how well he could ride a dirt bike. Rob Brickman was the other individual in the vehicle when Christine Thompson died. Rob was driving the vehicle, Bill was in the front seat and Christine was asleep in the backseat. Very tragic accident, and very memorable. Jennifer

Chris Lavigne was a great guy, was on the canoe trip with him in Algonquin Park in the summer of 1972/73. That was some trip. He was a great listener also. Was upset at the time when heard about his passing in 1976. It wasn't fair, that the good went early!

I just came across this board. I am realizing how many friends I have lost from bayside. Christine Thompson, who was killed in a drinking and driving accident, Kim Armstrong was hit by a train, Steve Kettle...A couple new names that I didn't see here; Sean Barry who was my best man at my wedding committed suicide some years ago. Suzie Furlotte, died of a massive heart attack at 44. Very depressing.
