I remember a band called "The Crayons" playing the grade 12 and 13 grads I went to at the then Four Seasons. In 1979 Spaceship Superstar by Prism was probably played 5 - 6 times every lunch hour on the jukebox in the cafeteria. When My Sharona was put on the jukebox in 80? you'd sometimes hear it a couple of times in a row....crazy! Speaking of the cafeteria - man those oatmeal cookies were good!

the oatmeal cookies were excellent, but so were the date squares!! not too mention I still am addicted to HOT HAMBURGERS!! LOL When I came up here to college I had to teach the cafeteria staff in the school how to make a hot hamburger (I always thought it was a given! gravy on everything! LOL but they looked at me like I was nuts the first few times after a few times they knew )

Does anyone remember the Coke Dances at the Trenton Arena? Or the Park Club in Belleville? There were some other non-booze clubs but I don't remember the names of them.

Yes my husbands name is Ray but he doesn't seem to remember your name (don't feel bad cause it took him three months of dating to remember mine!) How do you know him and from where? Hey Heather is your husbands name Ray. If so tell him Guy Sneath says hi.

Dream Weaver!
Leo Sayer tunes, as with his head of curly hair, I was always compared to him with my own squirrel-nest on top of my head.
Can't forget the BeeGees and the disco tunes that came out then, and the BSS crowd would go to Dolan's and dance on the small floor. Mr. Johnston also had the big fro of curly hair when he arrived at the high school to teach.
Remember the juke box in the cafe? And students firing oranges across the room at the far wall above out tune box?
Memories.

Sadly Dolans has closed. Anyone remember the Starlite in the old Quinte Hotel on Pinnacle? The Hotel has been remodelled now and is a Clarion Inn. We spent many a night at Starlite.

Dolans - memories. Drinking age 18 at the time, just like Alberta now. But then when I got my AMC for 18, had to get another the following year when I think Bill Davis and his Tory party in power put the age up to 19, like the rest of Canada is now....exception being Alberta where it's still 18. All the great disco tunes kids today are discovering (meaning those students of that generation who have kids now The dance floor was small and often crowded on a Friday and Saturday night. No one really got drunk as I recalled....too much fun dancing. Time for change. Dance places replaced by clubs holding raves. A different time back in the late 70s, then punk came around in the early 80s. New wave was cool, too, with a different sound. Still danceable though.

How long has Manitoba kepted its age of majority (to drink) at 18? It went up to 19 in Ontario back in 77-78, as I was 18 in 77 and 19 in 78...so I had two age of majority cards by the time I arrived at York University in September '78 to start my four-year tour of duty in Downsview. How's the flooding? Are you affected? See the news coverage on CTV and CBC nightly.

Bands that I can remember playing dances at BSS when I was there were Bentwood Rocker, Consilium, Lennox, Photograph/The Elevators or Creed - don't remember exactly what they were called at the time.
