Mel Bayers 72-78
I graduated in 78 (after a short hiatus in B.C. in 77) After graduating I ended up moving to Nova Scotia with the rest of my family. I live in a small community, named Musquodoboit Harbour, about 40 minutes from Halifax. I married a local girl, Beverly Anderson, in 1980 and am still married to her. I have two daughters. Christine is almost 20 and is about to finish her second year at St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. Amanda will graduate high school this year and still does not know what she wants to do afterwards.

Hi: Teresa "Xavier" O'Neil here. Great to see a Bayside website. I lived in British Columbia for a couple of years and then right back to Trenton. I have been married to Dave O'Neil (Trenton High graduate) for almost 19 years and we have 3 daughters. I work at Loyalist College in the Child Care Centre. I frequently see Mr. Dell as he is still very active in soccer as a ref and two of my daughters play rep soccer locally!!! Hope to hear from some other Bayside friends via this website too. I will pass on the site to others I hear from/see.

Don, during your undercover work with the OPP, did you come across an officer by the name of Tim Shepherd, out of North Bay? He lived in Belleville, while I was in Trenton going to BSS. I think he went to Quinte, but after we departed for uni et al, he joined up with the OPP and was on the biker gang detail. We met up in the early 90s in Timmins, Ontario where I was working in the news media. He was in town doing some undercover work and had me meet him at a bar...wow, I didn't recognize his transformation to "scum of the earth" as he described it. Sure looked like a biker...not like out days in Grade 9 and 10 attending Widdifield SS in North Bay. Our fathers both were posted to Trenton at the same time, but his parents chose to live in Belleville while my late father picked the PMQ's. I'm the police reporter handling the RCMP beat here in central Alberta now. Kept busy with gangs, shootings et al that come with covering a four band reserve south of here called Hobbema.
Cheers,
JULES S. XAVIER '76 to '78

Thanks Teresa (my sister) for providing me with this BSS website. Didn't seem to get much off the Classmates site. I see sister Morgan has been on here. Have passed the site on to Lance Darlow, who went to BSS as a Grade 18 student. Anyone remember Lance "Romance"? His older brother is Art, with Carrie being his younger sister. His mom worked in the office area. A great site to track down former BSS classmates. Will share this link with others for sure.

Hi. I just found out about this site. It's great to see many long lost friends. It sure brings back lots of good memories. After graduating Nursing at Loyalist College I moved to Ottawa. Blair and I have been married for 20 years and have a son 18 and 2 daughters 15 and 12. We lived in Calgary for 7 years and have now been in Kingston for 10 years. Since I married into the military we will probably be off again in a year or 2. I now do Home Day Care and quite enjoy it.

Hi Diane,
It sure has been a long time since I have heard from/seen you. I think I was working at Sam the Record Man back then!!! I am still here in Trenton-also working in Day Care-but at Loyalist College. I have been married almost 19 years and have 3 daughters-Michelle is 16, Marleigh is 12 and Makenna is 8. I have been working at Loyalist for 15 years now!!! You were my very first friend when we moved to Trenton-oh so long ago. Great to hear how you are doing. Teresa (Xavier)

Hi Rose. I saw your name on here with many others and it sure brings back some great memories.
My kids who are in constant contact with their friends thanks to the computer can't understand how our generation lost contact with so many good friends.
Judy is in Calgary and married with 2 girls 6 & 8. She not much into the computer thing so I will have to try to get her on line.
My parents have lived in Dartmouth for 20 years so we are there every summer for a visit.

Hey... amazing! So good to see some names I can remember too! Having been at BSS for grades 12 & 13, means that I have a shorter range of folks!
I've been living here in Dartmouth since 2000... we lived in Kingston from 1992-95... Dave was teaching at RMC, and I was working for Social Services there.
Funny thing is, I can't imagine not being on the computer all the time, and without e-mail I'd be lost... surprizingly though we need to go and find each other again.
Where in Dartmouth are your parents? Small flipping world hey? My parents came back here in 1984, and they and my brother have never left. I married military, so moving was our lives for only 10 years and then Dave got out in 2000. We feel settled. It would be great to see you next time you are in Dartmouth!
I've got to try and connect with others from back then... there are a few... but still looking for lots of people.
Nice to see you here...

Thanks for refreshing my aging memory middle sibling....I'd forgotten you did not take your Grade 13, instead heading to Vancouver Island where you entered the Miss Nanaimo pageant and started earning a living. I guess just Jane and I did the 13th grade thingie. And I know you started in '76...a minor niner as I was entering 11th grade, while Jane started in grade 10. I remember the councillor Mr. Granger asking if we all wanted to be in the same house, Ontario, but requested to be separated from my sisters...so I got posted to Bay house. Where are the initial stages of a reunion for the 35th for BSS? Has anyone in Ontario struck a committee, then delegate out to the various eras to plan an agenda for said event in July or August of 2007? I can help from out here with the media side, drawing on my profession. How about a bull session on what to play for this potential event? Brainstorming time! I can't see the school objecting to using its facilities as one venue....maybe some alumni sports events....see Howie Dell catch the pigskin (former Argooooooo!!!). Mr. Begg lead an alumni band in song? Howie Dell dunking the basketball without aid of the wall and gym bench. How about some intramurals....the 70s vs 90s in indoor baseball? We could do a family day, too, like in '91 at one of the provincial parks. But this time I won't burn the tops of my feet playing volleyball? Lance Darlow can model his speedo! Brainstorming.....or go to www.google.ca and put in high school reunion and see what other schools have done in the past, to find new ideas to enhance the experience when you're bringing in different eras for an reunion. Lots of baby boomers to entertain compared to those generation Xers out of the 90s grad classes. Just a few thoughts....my column on a reunion and the trials and tribulations associated with said event runs April 24 in the paper I edit. Check it out on here or go to the Times Advertiser's website: www.wetaskiwintimes.comEnjoy your Sunday...it's sunny here in central Alberta, home to Ralph's bucks....$400 cheque back in February to every person living in the province where there's no PST.

Great column on the reunion!! I have read a couple more you have written. They really are good and make a person think. How about one on the current government not lowering the flag and not allowing media access at Trenton.
Signed a former neighbor from 49A Regina Cr and one of Teresa's friends.
Very sorry to hear about the loss of both your Dad and your Mom.
