Oh I remember telling off an english teacher because of some unfair comments on essays, telling Mr Readto f-off cause I did nothing wrong.I fought the way of life and felt that the easy path would be the best so I stole and drank and acted like a jerk.My confronting authority continues to this day as I was taught to stand up for myself if I believed I was right. It is weird how people take that cause I have the feeling that authority figures think that we wont question them or their actions and I was taught to question things I felt were wrong.

Where am I now...Darlene Peter (St. John) 1983 Well, many teachers would be surprised to see that I became a police officer. My best friend in high school and still now is Colleen Sweetnam (Collins) and that she too becam a cop. The difference is, I left after 14 years and back surgery to go to teacher's college. I am teaching grade four in Kitchener Ontario. I have 2 children with my husband Gary....

No longer in Alberta, I've arrived in BC, on Vancouver Island. Sold my house in Wetaskiwin is a week, with a Newfoundland older couple purchasing it for $140,500. I bought it in 2002 for $81,000 which tells you the hot market that is central Alberta. Morgan and I went up to Comox and found a mobile home - only $38,000....too expensive here for houses. Another crazy market. I start my job on Aug. 14 at the Comox Valley Record, where I have the title of assistant editor. I left have a U-Haul full of my stuff, but will not take possession of the mobile home until Aug. 25. Ugh! Closing date on my house in Wetaskiwin is Aug. 21. Transition time. Stressed? Yes!!!!! But at least I'm closer to the family in Nanaimo - highway drive is 60 minutes. But now I have the PST and BC Hydro. Not Epcor and Fortis. Wish me luck on the next chapter in my life,eh!

The housing market is nuts everywhere!! Even in this little town we were told that we could make almost 85 thousand on our house if we were to sell it now, and that is just in 3 years Glad to see you made it out there ok Jules, sounds like you are going to be busy in the next month or two moving in.........Best of luck on your new job and new surroundings. I hope your job turns out to be what you wanted it to be and more.........

Enjoy your new home and new province Jules. Moving is always stressful, but once you settle in you will enjoy it. Also remember a mobile home is alot less cleaning than a house..wink wink

So many names I remember... gonna have to dig out my yearbooks.. This is a fantastic idea to get people together again.. thanks for the hard work! I do remember Darlene and Colleen... hows your sister? You used to live down the road from me .. Dated Allistar Meinzinger (sp?) I graduated in 85, when to school in Lindsay for 2 years and got a job in London.. London is a great place but like someone else said you sure miss the bay... hell the Thames river is what i would call a spring runoff creek.. The job I moved to London for SUCKED so I quit... after living lean (back porches and such) I landed a job with Ontario Hydro as a Labourer... worked my way into a full time job as a Forester. The only catch was I had to move to Guelph (Where the hell was that was my first question). I worked in Guelph as a forester for 5 or 6 years then was given/forced into an opportunity to try working with Ontario Hydro's computer network... I guess I had an aptitude for it because 9 years later that is what I am doing.. Senior IT Analyst. The only real problem I have with the job is its location. For 5 years my main office was in Markham (Warden and Hwy 7).. thats a long d**n commute from Guelph.. I was also on a project in Barrie working at Hydro Ones centralized operations centre... another long commute. I met my wife in London and we have been married for 16 years. We have two boys, Liam (9) and Jack (6).. the centres of the universe of course! They keep me busy with sports, soccer and football and just soaking up all the attention I can get from them. Our favorite destination is Ivor Wynn Stadium to watch the Tiger Cats play... Go Cats Go! I get back to Trenton all the time since my parents and brother are still there. Next week I am going to Ottawa for a conference and will be running into an old high school friend.. I will pass this site along to him. Thats it in a nut shell... I will be surfing through the rest of the board now!

Welcome Mark and anyone else who once attended BSS as we see more alumni join up in August. Where am I now? Not in Wetaskiwin, Alberta anymore. Left my editorship there (having called that part of central Alberta home since 1998) reluctantly and now find myself in God's country - Vancouver Island. In fact, Comox Valley. More precisely, Courtenay where I'm now the assistant editor with the Comox Valley Record. For the air force brats out there, us Xavier brats were here in the late '60s to early '70s, leaving here for Kingston, Ont., when our late father was posted there. Surrounded by salt water. Just hope there's no earthquake here in my lifetime. See the VI slip into the Pacific. Great access to seafood. Sold my three-bedroom bungalow in Wetaskiwin (listed at $145,900) in less than a week. Bought in back in 2002 for $81,000. Sold it for $140,500 to an older couple from the ROCK (Newfoundland). Tough leaving, but the new publisher seemed to look at his editorial staff as costs versus assets. Always second guessing yourself....why? And for an editor's salary of just under $30,000 per year. UGH! Time to move on and start fresh. So here I am, just one hour drive from Morgan, Carroll, Jane and other relatives on my mother's side of the family. But that won't keep me away from a high school reunion in Trenton next summer (sister Teresa is still there, married to a Trenton High grad, but a great bro-in-law and accountant). A crazy real estate market in Alberta, moreso, on Vancouver Island in places like Comox Valley, Parksville and Nanaimo. Had to buy a mobile home, which sister Morgan found and said is perfect for me (I concur, especially the price). After my house sold and I paid back the mortgage to the TD Bank, I found more than $66,000 in my account. Thus, I just spent $38,000 cash on a mobile home I take possession of on Thursday (Aug. 24). My stuff from Alberta is still in a U-HAUL stuck in Nanaimo. Morgan will bring it down on Thursday. I've got two weeks under my belt at the paper, with the editor off next week....so, I'm flying by the seat of my pants. There are six staffers in the newsroom, compared to three in Wetaskiwin at the Times Advertiser. And I'm not longer the oldest, with a few editorial types already over 50. I'm closing in on 48 this coming January 8th....the males are the oldsters in the editorial department; girls are the youngsters. If you are on the VI in Comox Valley, I call home 23-1180 Edgett Road in Courtenay. Postal code for the B.C. community is V9N 6C7. A bustling tourist destination here.

Hello Jasia I post this as a guest as I don't seem to be able to stay logged in. Elemenatry school, wow, I remember the canada russia series and a bad experience with the band teacher after our best performance in grade 8 but other than that I cannot say. So were you in my split class in grade 8, I ask as I can't say I remember your name. That is something that applies to all those years of school and even high school Maybe you can give me some more info that will jog my memory out of the fog. Thanks for the support and may I say that I wish all is well with you also. What are you doing in the comox valley just a short hop form where I am ta in Prince Rupert. Take care Darrell

Just think Jules you dont have to pay ECCO tax on your purchases of appliances and electronics now that you are in BC. And the scenery must be fantastic. I have been to Alberta and loved it but never to BC. I would love to take a trip out there just to see the whales and the ocean.

Does anyone remember Pat Dunn from BSS?
He's a few years younger than I, and just retired from the military at 19 Wing CFB COMOX. I officiated a hockey game with him tonight at the arena in Courtenay. Small world, eh! He'd have been Morgan or Carroll's age back then. We were throwing names around in the dressing room as our first game was cancelled (no Stop signs on the back of the players' jerseys). I just sent him this website addy. So expect to see him on shortly. He's off for home to dig out his yearbooks from the garage as he remember Jeff Diamond, my sisters Morgan and Teresa, and a lot of the girls back then. Teachers, too! It was fun talking about old times.
