We're off to Hamilton in Nov as Carly and her team of 3 won this leg of the bowling tournament. The hotel's paid for and I've only been to Hamilton once. Best part is... the Ikea is only 10 km from the hotel.

Look out Ikea..Diane is on her way!LOL! Good for Carly.......bowling away like that is always fun. Wayne went to Ottawa a couple times for bowling and had a riot but for some reason wanted to take this year off. It's still snowing and Mike is in the garage with the lawn mower going since he decided it was time to put it away for the winter. It's all his fault it's snowing since we had to buy a snow blower this week to replace our other 17yr old one!!!!!!!LMAO!!!

Hi Wanda and all , We are doing okay here in B.C. and as far as I know so is B.C. LOL Havve started a new group to work things through fo me and the kids. It is the nicest thing I feel I can do for myself that will benefit the kids. The hockey season is uupon us once more so Saurdays are full of hockey and after doing the cleaning the games are more enjoyable. Hope all is well with all of you , unfortunately I will not be able to attend the reunion but I hope it goes well for all who do attend. Take care of the little things the big ones seem to take care of themselves. Darrell

Hi Darrell, I am happy to see you are doing that. Good for you. Pet is a quiet little town lately with troops either gone or getting ready to go. I found someone on his way overseas next week and loaded him up with Halloween candy for a few friends I have over there ;D I heard they were craving junk food!LOL! Winter is setting in but I love the fall. Not too cold and not too hot. How is it out there Darrell? Gee sometime I have to go out to BC and check it out...... The hockey game just started and I THINK Ottawa is going to kick TO's butt

So how many goblins did everyone have? We had around 115 but we usually get around 200 up here. Did anyone else get the feeling that there weren't as many out this year or was it just around here? Maybe with alot of guys gone allot of people stayed home. Who knows.....................
How much candy did everyone eat!LOL!
I didn't eat one bar or one chip since I went low carb 9 weeks ago so my answer would be NONE ;D

I live in a apartment and the supers handed out candy at the door, so sadly I didnt get any. I miss Halloween trick or treaters alot. Been a rough couple of weeks here for me. My daughters ex (of 2 months) grabbed her off the street last Wednesday morning and forced her into his car where he beat her up, choked her and broke her nose.So last week was hospitals doctors police and court. This week has been doctors surgery and more court. She had her nose operated on yesterday and I am really tired as I find it hard to sleep when I know she is in pain. Please dont make the mistake I did and think because ur child is 18 they understand what is going on in life. He had been stalking her for two months and she told her boss at work he was harassing her there and they did nothing. She didnt tell us tho, cos she didnt want Mom to worry. Well in the end Mom is now alot more worried. The police charged him with assault causing bodily harm, forciable confinement, criminal stalking, and choking. He has had three bail hearing and they keep remanding him, I am so afraid they will let him out and then what, how do you tell ur child not to be afraid to walk to school, work or to see friends. what is this world coming to... Elaine - with some of the recent domestic violence incidents in this country, I'd be very alert when it comes to your daughter and the jerk called her ex-bf. If he went out of his way to stalk, then grab her off the street, choke and beat her, then he's capable of going the next step - tragically, the court system is weak when it comes to these situations. Sounds like the idiot is a jealous type to the extreme, so if he can't have her, then no one will...ulitimately, if he's let on bail, even if it's stringent and he can't be within 10 miles of her, he could do even worse. I know my dad if he was alive and it had been one of my sisters, the guy would be be pushing up daisies in an unmarked spot in no-man's land. call this guy a coward even though he thinks he's a man...breaking a woman's nose, choking, assaulting. That's no man in my books....I feel your pain. I've been to too many domestic violence situations with my job covering the police, and it's one thing they find the most dangerous and unpredictable versus going to a bank hold-up or MVC. Make sure the crown tosses the book at the guy. Give the judge a photo of your daughter's face before and after the assault. That's the person ulitimatey responsible for your daughter's safety.

The police took over a 100 pictures of her nose, mouth, neck and legs and some of her ribs. We had to take her back down last nite so they could get some of her nose with the cast on it. It is a sin that young women everywhere in this country live in fear. Her dad told the police that they had better find him be4 he did and the cop said then we would ha ve to put u in the cell beside him. Scum like that isnt worth joining in jail for sure. The crown said if convicted and he admitted to the police he choked her, he is looking at 3 to 25 years on all the charges and they arent going to negotiate any down. Ontario has adopted a no tolerance for domestic voilence and throw the book at most who commit those crimes. But knowing that and seeing it applied are two different things, and how does one tell a 18 year old not to be afraid. She knows mom and dad would kill for her but then she knows that mom and dad become what he is.. a convict, and she doesnt want that either. When did life get so complicated for kids these days?

Sorry for being absent. You can scan the pics to me Jules.
Elaine my sister went through the same. She had to go on the run for a while. My parents had to get her out of the country. I know its an upheaval but its better than getting a call from the police saying they've found her body and are looking for this coward. Just a thought.

Elaine I have to agree with Sarah and Jules. I know you don't want your daughter to live in fear but she does have to be very careful. Many people don't take these threats very seriously so the outcome is not always good. I really hope the law is changing.
He should not be allowed out on bail but if he does I hope the police give you warning so maybe you could send your daughter to a safe place with friends or relatives (that he doesn't know about) in another area. It's not the best solution but it's the safest.
Hope all goes well. I can't imagine the stress you are all under.

Thanks for the kind words guys. As it stands now he is back for his 3rd bail hearing Friday and it looks like he will spend his time be4 trial in jail. But this has cost us so much so far. I have lost my job as my daughter needed me and my employer didnt understand. My husband and I are fighting as we each blame each other. My daughter has missed almost two weeks of work, and is afraid to even go out on the street. I dont understand how one person can ruin 5 peoples lives and not feel some sort of responsibility for it. I remember being her age and not fearing anything other than my parents. haha... Different times I guess life was simplier back then. I am hoping to hear today about a position we applied for in Ottawa for community managers for a housing complex, if that pans out she will be out of the area and safe. The stress is unbeleivable, I have panic attacts when she even goes to the store and forget sleep I hear every little noise now and wake up. I wish men would learn that when they beat their wives/ girlfriends/ exs it affects everyone in that family. How would they feel if someone did that to their sister or mother?
