People worry about their young children but parenting older ones becomes more worrysome as you allow them more freedom and independence.
You can't blame yourself as we all as parents do what we feel is best at the time but sometimes later wish we had done things differently. Sorry to hear about your job but later when this is all in the past you can look back and remember that you chose the best thing you can do as a parent......being there for your daughter when she really needed it the most.
Another good idea is for all of you to go to counselling (there are free services available) so he doesn't succeed in breaking up a family. He is the only one who is to blame.

yahoooooooooooooooooooo we got the job in Ottawa. Such a relief. We have to be there for the 20th, so the kids are staying here until we get things squared away up there. Good news is the a##hole is going to have to stay in jail until his trial and he is under a no contact order and that applies to his family too. My daughter feels much safer. She is working with Victims Assistance and they have set up appointments with counsellors for her. I think there is light at the end of the tunnel. My older son is moving back in and he will cover half the rent and her and her brother will pay the rest and they can split the bills three ways. I feel much better knowing he will be here. I realize she is 18 but a mom always worries. As for her nose, the crink is till there even after surgery but its not as noticeable and she is happy.

hmmmmm there's someone else on here I need to get hold of and have coffee with someday...maybe we can drag him along with us ;D
I just got back from the Rememberance Day ceremony here in Pet....the largest turnout they say in YEARS and I have to say it's nice to see.
As someone who spent years in the military when the gov't didn't care it's so nice to see.
(Hubby was on a convoy last week about one hour away and they were being waved at and people wanted to shake their hands and give free coffee-he can't believe it either)
This one was the hardest one for me though since losing Mark and having my other friend Greg over there........sigh....
So what has everyone been up to lately anyway?

Make sure you contact the Criminal Injuries compensation board. They have a website and they compensate victims of crimes of violence.
A fair bit of paperwork but worth the time.

K I am all moved. But left all the furniture with the kids. EEKS.. We are sleeping on a air mattress and have two chairs and a desk for the puter. Got my internet phone and cable today. Omg I am just about stir crazy with nothing to do. But guys I love Ottawa. So hopefully in the next couple of weeks I can find some furniture..lol told the cable guy tonite that if he had any he didnt want he knew where to bring it.. He just smiled, life will get better right?

Thanks Tony I love it here. We are really busy training for the new job and start in our offices on Monday. Hopefully on weekends off we can travel more of the city than our own little area.

Hmm Wanda.. found a Althetes World Clearance Center down the street. Some good prices. Havent been out shopping much tho, I work 9 to 6 and come home and drdop in bed not long after.That is what happens when you are OLD.
