Gator....yes I believe that was the party....and a crazy one it was. Do you remember playing b-ball against the Koreans? I remember we booked a hotel room in the same hotel as them in Belleville and had this huge party - they all got so drunk on our Canadian suds (we were such great hosts) and the next day they had 2 games against other shools - I remember Dan L. being mad at us for partying it up too much with them...

They were Koreans? I remember that incident but couldn't have told you what nationality they were. So when wasn't Dan mad at us? I remember one tournament where he caught us having a few "pops" in the hotel. All he said was "You guys better play the best game of your lives tomorrow morning" and away he went... didn't take the beer and never said another word about it. Dan was a good guy. Fleeter do you rember having a wee smoke in the bathroom at the hotel, using the bathroom fan to try and suck the smoke and smell out?

Yes I remember Dan catching us - that was at the Holiday Inn in Oshawa...we got smoked the next day and yes I do remember the bathroom fan. My favorite was definitely the Koreans - they were so hung over the next day!!! I've seen Dan the odd time around town. Gator - one of my sons is in grade 10, goes to Quinte - he's already got 3 bay of quinte golds, 2 bay of quinte silvers and 2 Cossa golds and 2 Cossa silvers....man....I told him about all the high school sports I played and we never saw any of those - he was blown away. He's got quite a collection going for only 2 yrs of high school!!!

Hey Fleeter (still Casper to me)... great to hear your son is doing so well! If you see Dan around town say hi for me and tell him I'm still not fat. He used to insist that we were all going to be fat because of the amount of food we ate at tournaments Ray Dassylva in particular). Thanks for bringing back som fond and rather hilarious memories! If there is going to be a BSS reunion next year I would like to nominate your band to play. I checked out some of the pics of your band and you look the same as ever. I remember you used to always say you were "a bit of a punk rock star" or something like that.

Well there's a memory - the red-headed guy's name was Mike Nicholson. I knew him quite well because he lived in Nova Scotia when I did also. Yes, he did have quite a stutter. I don't know what ever became of him - I think he ended up joining the armed forces? Also, what does Greg Turcotte play? I don't ever remember him being into music at school. I ran into Geoff Ward some years back when he was coaching the Kitchener Rangers...now he coaches in the American Hockey League I think. We used to say we were proud members of the "Pine Line" on the basketball squad.

Lynn Halloran (nee Cooney) here! Hey Steve Fleet! Fancy meeting you here. I lived on the base from about '78 to '83. I lived on Namao Drive. Loved reading the stories here - crazy base parties being busted by the MP's, summer fun program - I remember you Rose!, the great colours of the houses and the shortcut to McDonald's. I graduated from Bayside in '85. I hung around Annette Koops, Susan Henderson (another base brat), Noella Koshul, Andrea Breau, Angela McDiarmid (another base brat) and Patricia Munroe just to name a few. Would love to here from anyone from my 'era.' Cheers!

Casper & Garbage Man... first of all Ray, you DID eat that much, and more! I remember Mike Nicholson for not only his stutter but for his knack of getting called for travelling. Dan used to threaten to get him a road map. Is Greg Turcotte still in the Forces? I think he was a fly-boy in Cold Lake for awhile. I remember him playing some guitar around the camp fire one May two-four weekend. I haven't been by the old house in a long time Ray, but I would be willing to bet that martini is still down there. That was quite the effort as I recall!

Sorry to jump into the middle of the basketball discussion... lol... but Lynn... are you Brad Clooney's sister? Nice to see someone remembering Summer Fun... that was a lot of summers for me in the early 80's. I exchanged an e-mail or two with Brad a few years back, I think I found him on some other military brats list or something. There sure are lots of great memories of living in Middleton Park... not all of them good, but most of them funny.
Brian... still can't call you Gator... lol... we'll connect at some point, got your e-mail, glad to hear all is well. I really should get my brother Tom to log in, he'd enjoy hearing some of the antics of you lot! He was a few years behind you guys playing Basketball/Rugby... but has a few stories to tell as well I am sure.
What is Patrick McNamara doing these days? I remember when the whole RMC thing didn't work out for him... or so I recall... or did it? There were a few people who graduated in 82... who were off to RMC, and then withdrew in basic. No judgements here though... what so ever!
Fun to read your posts everyone... I think the plan for the next reunion isn't until the Summer of 2007, to celebrate the 35th Anniversary of the school.
